Summer When In College

I personally never thought that this would be an issue for me. However, I really found my independence in college, and being home has truly been a challenge for me. I know many people have the same feelings and have been struggling to survive until we go back. I just wanted to share my experience of this difficult time in my life where I dropped my whole life that I had for 9 months and moved back to where I left my high school self. This also really depends on your parents and your accessibility. Luckily, my parents have been really understanding of the independence (to a point) that I need to be comfortable in this uncomfortable transition.

Not only do I miss the freedom, but the people, and specifically my boyfriend. To cope with this long distance of life that I grew to love two and a half hours away from my childhood town, I picked up some habits to make the time move faster and make me feel better about the current situation. I was very lucky to find a summer job to make the time go faster, but I strongly recommend trying your best to find a job. This really helped the time go by, and I also made money for the upcoming semester.

I also try to go on walks and be outside. Spending time outside is really comforting to me, especially when I'm off my phone for a while. I would recommend getting out of the house in general. I think just finding things to do in your free time while also balancing your own health and relaxation time is super important for this time in your life. Finding things you enjoy that you can continue while in college is also super helpful because it won't feel like a chore you have to do, but something you enjoy throughout the year.
